Varsity Letter

A Player can earn a varsity letter in two different ways during the 2007 season.

A Player can participate in 20 varsity quarters

A Player earns 36 points--points are earned as follows:
  1. 2 Points for the first varsity quarter played.
  2. 0.385 Points for every subsequent quarter played.
  3. 2 Points for participating in another school sport.
  4. 5 Points for no late or missed practices.
  5. 3 Points for no unexcused practices.
  6. 3 Points for no team rule violations.
  7. For each grading period* a player receives the following:
  8. 3 Points for attaining a 4.0 to 5.0 average.
  9. 2 Points for attaining a 3.0 to 3.99 average.
  10. 1 Points for attaining a 2.0 to 2.99 average.
  11. Players will receive points for attaining the following lifting clubs:
  12. 5 Points for the 800-L.B. Club
  13. 6 Points for the 900-L.B. Club
  14. 7 Points for the 1000-L.B. Club
  15. 8 Points for the 1100-L.B. Club
  16. Coaches will add up your bench, power clean, and squat for a total toward a club level.
  17. 1-4 Points are coaches' prerogative. This takes into consideration team spirit, dedication, hustle and enthusiasm.

The first method is the traditional approach. The second method rewards players for investing time and effort to improve themselves, thus making the entire team better.

*Grading periods used for the 2007 season are: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of the 06-07 school year and the 1st of the 07-08 school year.
